Delivery Kits where they are most needed.

Helping expectant mothers by providing critical maternal supplies.

Living on the margins of society

Insurgency and terrorism, communal violence, natural disasters and even forced evictions have created huge populations of internally displaced persons (IDPs) within Nigeria over the past decade. Millions of people - many from rural indigenous populations already accustomed to living in poverty have had to leave their ancestral homes and entire livelihoods behind (sometimes with only the clothes on their backs when they fled).

Many IDPs end up in camps with little or no access to basic needs and amenities such as potable water, food, clothing, healthcare, education, and security. Furthermore, they face significant mental health challenges, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Still, life must continue, and many have looked to pick up what’s left and reestablish community and livelihoods under challenging circumstances.

Supporting Life and Hope: Maternity Kits for Expectant Mothers in Need

One of the pillars of our mission here at the foundation is Pro-life advocacy, through which we work to support the unborn and those closest to them. Ordinarily, carrying a baby to term is an onerous task for expectant mothers and their families. When you factor in being an IDP, the situation becomes exponentially more difficult.

Working with local resource persons, the Ogochi Anastasia Foundation identified 17 expectant mothers within the IDP camp in Kuchingoro within Abuja municipality camps for our 2024 end-of-year outreach and provided them with maternity delivery kits- these kits contain crucial items required by the mother and hospital personnel at the time of delivery. By giving these kits, we can take one less worry away from mothers and their families as they prepare to bring their children into the world
